The sun beat down so hot that day at the game. A game I’d never went to see.
My grandpa smiled to me and talked about the players. Too bad I wasn’t there.
I drank that bottle of water so fast. My throat back up north never knew.
The drive back was so slow and quiet. Two more hours I spent with you.

A different choice a different day.
If I’d left or if I’d stayed.
The sun still burned anyway.
